Position Handyperson
Salary: £22,063 per annum
Location: Bradford
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours
Contract: Permanent
The Role:
Manningham Housing Association is seeking a proactive and skilled handperson to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality minor works services to tenant homes, ensuring effective maintenance and compliance with health and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
– Regularly inspect common areas, including stairways, pathways, gardens, and amenity areas, reporting on conditions and identifying any breaches.
– Efficiently remove rubbish and discarded items from common areas and vacant properties, arranging their disposal or storage.
– Conduct gutter cleaning, removing debris and plant growth to ensure proper drainage and prevent water penetration.
– Perform internal cleaning of low-rise blocks and treat surfaces affected by mould growth.
– Assist the Health and Safety and Compliance Officer with on-site compliance activities.
– Undertake minor reactive repairs and support estate clean-up and grounds maintenance initiatives.
– Engage in external fencing repairs and decoration, and participate in snow removal and gritting during inclement weather.
– Ensure vehicle roadworthiness through daily checks and maintenance reporting.
Requirements:
– Good level of education (GCSE standard or equivalent) preferred; cleaning qualification (e.g., NVQ) is desirable.
– Valid full clean driving license.
– Experience in basic maintenance repairs, health and safety checks, and handling emergency situations.
– Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with tenants and colleagues.
– Demonstrable problem-solving skills and the ability to meet customer expectations.
