Where to get help

If you believe you are being abused or worried you may commit domestic abuse, read the Domestic abuse: get help during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak detailed guidance on how to get help which includes contact information for organisations and services which offer support and advice.

If you are in immediate danger, call 999 and ask for the police – the police will continue to respond to emergency calls.

If you suspect that your neighbours or those in your community are victims of domestic abuse, we encourage you to report it to the police.

If you are in danger and unable to talk on the phone, dial 999 and listen to the questions from the operator and respond by coughing or tapping the handset if you can (If you are in danger, you will be asked to dial “55). Click here for the guidelines.

The National Domestic Abuse Helpline is run by Refuge and offers free, confidential support 24 hours a day to victims and those who are worried about friends and loved ones.

Rehab 4 Addiction was founded to assist those affected by substance misuse and their loved ones. This includes alcohol rehab, drug rehab, detox services, intervention, aftercare and outpatient counselling

Nabeela Naseem, Neighbourhood Officer

Nabeela is now one of our Neighbourhood Officers and has been working at Manningham Housing Association since 2015. Nabeela initially started as an Income Assistant, and within 3 years, she progressed to a senior customer service Officer where she managed the Customer Services team. Nabeela managed the customer services team for 7 years and then progressed to joining the Neighbourhood team.

Having graduated from Bradford University, obtaining a BA (Hons) Degree in Criminal Justice, it took a while to decide on a chosen career path.  Nabeela decided to work within a customer-focused environment, setting her off on her current working life.  She has a passion for helping people, and it is this passion that has allowed her to develop so well in her roles, as she always has a customer-focused approach.

Nabeela has a very well-rounded knowledge of the needs of Customers and the Housing Sector, and she has completed the Housing Diversity Network Mentoring Programme to enhance her skills and expertise in Housing and is also working towards her CIH L4.
