Understanding Universal Credit – Home

Universal Credit (UC) replaces these six benefits:

  1. Housing Benefit
  2. JSA (Income Based)
  3. Income Support
  4. ESA (Income Based)
  5. Working Tax Credit
  6. Child Tax Credit

Eligibility:

  • Under pension age
  • Out of work or low-income
  • Savings less than£16k

Housing Benefit is the rent support for people on low income. Now only available to pensioners and people living in supported housing.
